A small town sheriff races against the clock to save her teen daughter abducted by a killer who murders his victims based on the Seven Deadly Sins. 

When Danny’s husband, the sheriff of a small town, died, no one knew the job better since she worked as his dispatcher. She took the position and only had to deal with small issues until Pastor Frank Gresham comes to town a week before Easter. Women swoon over his dashing good looks and charming demeanor. Even Danny’s teen daughter Kathy is left speechless when she meets him at church. During the service, Frank promises something big for the upcoming Easter Sunday service.

A teen couple who were making out in church are brutally murdered the next day. Danny is left stumped as she investigates, as murders don’t happen in this town. Her job comes first, leaving Kathy feeling neglected as she practices to become head cheerleader. The teen’s arrogance irritates her mom, but she fails to reason with her.

On Tuesday, a young man who exhibited envy dies by the hands of an assailant. Danny now has a serial killer on her hands. While the investigation intensifies, Danny develops a friendly relationship with Frank. Kathy wins the head cheerleader position but is dismayed when Danny doesn’t seem to care.

On Wednesday, an obese man is murdered. Danny fails to find any link between the deaths. The whole town is worried, except for Kathy. She sneaks out while her mom is busy on the job with little fear for herself.

On Thursday, Danny investigates a fraud complaint. As Danny looks around inside Jeff’s business trailer, he strikes Danny and flees. That night, he breaks into the trailer to retrieve some belongings, only the killer watches him and commits murder once again.

On Friday, Frank visits Brian, the local journalist, to answer religious questions for an article Brian wants to write. Danny goes to the house to speak with both, only they are gone. There is blood in the kitchen and on a knife left behind. Danny assumes Brian is the killer and has murdered Frank, then disposed of his body in the woods. As she searches the area, she locates a body hidden by debris, only this isn’t Frank. It’s Brian.

Danny now realizes Frank is the killer, but why? She does research and realizes the murders are tied to the Seven Deadly Sins, one occurring on each day during Easter week with two more to go. In Frank’s basement, Danny discovers articles from a prophet talking about resurrecting Jesus right before Easter. This is what Frank plans to do by murdering sinners. What Danny doesn’t realize is that Frank kidnaps Kathy for pride and crucifies her in the church basement on Saturday Night. Danny is meant to commit wrath just after midnight to complete the circle. While Danny does kill Frank, Kathy dies from her wounds. With nothing left to live for, Danny takes her own life.
