As a man prepares to marry the woman of his dreams, he is forced to contend with a sex-addicted best friend and a desperate woman he promised as a child to marry after his 30th birthday.

Best friends Danny and Ava, 6 years old, are inseparable. Ava is a tomboy and very cool in Danny’s eyes. His cousin Harold has a crush on her but he’s not appealing to Ava. When talking about their future, Danny and Ava decide to make a pact - they will marry when they are 30 years old.

Over the years, they lose touch. Right around his 30th birthday, Danny meets Sophia, the woman of his dreams. After a short courtship, they decide to marry. Sophia’s well-to-do parents want to throw them a big wedding with all of the frills. While plans are made, Danny, the manager of a major department store, is forced to deal with his best friend. Josh is a womanizer and often pretends to work at Danny’s store in order to hit on the pretty female customers. While Danny is used to it, he draws the line so his job isn’t in jeopardy.

Ava is about to turn 30 and seeks out Danny to fulfill their pact, only this isn’t the same Ava. She’s overweight and wears braces. Danny is stunned to see his old friend, even more so when she expects he will marry her. Danny tries his best to make her understand he is marrying someone else. Without any prospects for herself, Ava keeps her eye set on Danny, no matter what she has to do in order to ruin his wedding.

Sophia doesn’t like this other woman hanging around. Ava is secretly jealous of Sophia’s beauty. Whenever Sophia goes with her mom to make a wedding arrangement, Ava shows up right behind them. At a bridal shop, Ava pretends that she is also getting married in order to shop for a dress. In her mind, she will be marrying Danny. Sophia chooses the dress she really wants and goes to try it on with her Mom’s help. Ava grabs the only other one left that happens to be in her size and follows them to the dressing room. In the stall next to theirs, Ava damages Sophia’s dress so she, herself can buy the beautiful gown to wear for Danny.

Desperate to end Ava’s stalking, Danny calls on a favor from Josh. Take out Ava and show her a good time. Ava is too much woman for Josh and he refuses initially, but Danny persuades him to take Ava out for dinner and dancing. Josh drinks heavily just to get through the date. Once he starts to loosen up, he actually has somewhat of a good time, even to the point of making out with Ava in her hotel room. Ava is fiercely loyal to Danny and drugs Josh so he passes out. Then she calls a male prostitute to be there when Josh wakes up to make him think he did something he didn’t, and scare him off.

Unable to get rid of Ava, Danny and Sophia continue with their wedding. On their big day, everything goes wrong. The food has been changed. The flowers are all daisies, which Sophia is allergic to. Ava parachutes in from a plane to claim her love for Danny. In front of family, he explodes on her. Ava actually feels badly for everything she has done. Harold still has an attraction to her and comes to her defense, proving to Ava there is a chance for love in her life outside of Danny.
