When a realistic mannequin turns up in a store’s window, a group of teens is determined to discover the secret of how it was made, placing themselves at risk of becoming store displays when they encounter a deranged killer.

A wealthy teen takes her friends on a weekend trip to a small town where they come across a quaint Ma & Pa type general store. The only thing inside that interests Sierra is the realistic mannequin. Her father owns large department stores and she knows it would benefit his chain if she can uncover the store’s secret.

The elderly owners, Charles and Martha Macready refuse to give Sierra the information she needs. They are very protective of their little store and don’t want outsiders to ruin it for them. After returning home, Sierra can’t let it go and decides her group needs to take another trip. She is determined to find the store’s secret to the lifelike displays. Her best friend Karen is against it but Sierra does what she wants.

Who the group returns, Sierra breaks into the store during the night to snoop. She does uncover the grisly secret but at the expense of her own life. The elderly couple have a deformed son named Harold. He is a beast of a man who wears a mask to cover his hideous face. A girl who was a former prisoner of the family had a daughter with Harold, little Breann. When her mom fled, Harold was sent after to kill her. Now that Sierra has uncovered the truth, she is destined to become the next mannequin.

Her friends see her in the store and think the likeness is uncanny, but the elderly owners assure them it’s a coincidence. Sierra probably just went home early and left them. Knowing that the story is full of holes, the Macready’s pick off Sierra’s friends one by one to prevent future issues. Karen is the last one standing and the couple decides to keep her for Harold’s new bride.

Being held captive is no picnic for Karen. It seems like Breann wants to help her but she’s scared. When Karen doesn’t conform to the good little prisoner that the crazed family wants, she is forced to fight for her life in order to survive. She wants to take Breann with her but the girl decides to help Karen escape by distracting what is left of her family. When Karen races outside to the street, she runs in front of a car and is struck.

She wakes up in the hospital with no memory of what happened to her. Doctors don’t know if she will ever remember and the authorities have no idea what happened without their eye witness.

A blood relative of the Macreadys, Zeke, keeps the family tradition going by stuffing the deceased couple at their home and keeping their store open.
