When an adult daughter returns home after a 2 year absence, her family must fight for their lives when she decides she wants the children's inheritance all to herself, and now.

Kari and Will have the perfect life with their blended family. Will's daughter Jess is a little sassy but a normal teen. Kari's two children, Michelle and Braden behave as any normal siblings do. A busy lifestyle keeps the well-to-do family busy.

Kari's oldest daughter, Candace, left home two years earlier and hasn't been heard from since. One day while loading her car with groceries, Keri encounters Candace in the parking lot. Hearing that her daughter is homeless breaks Kari's heart and she invites her to come by the house for dinner and a shower. The rest of the family is torn over Candace's sudden appearance, as she has always brought turmoil to the household.

Will has the biggest issue with the young woman and Candace knows it. Just as she is about to walk out, Keri pleads with Will to stop her. He asks Candace to stay a short while as they try to help her get back on her feet.

While the parents are at work and siblings at school, Candace does the only thing she knows to make money - prostitution. She sneaks johns into the house and makes sure they leave in time. The money isn't enough to satisfy her so she steals some of Keri's jewelry, starting with a valuable ring that belonged to Keri's grandmother. Once Keri realizes that a couple pieces of jewelry are missing, she confronts the eldest child, who plays the victim, pointing out there are three other kids in the house who could have stolen from her.

At Jess's pool party, Candace gets her first look at her step-sister's hot boyfriend, Jimmy. She makes a play for him, but Jimmy shoots her down and tells Jess. Tension rises between Candace and Jess, especially after Jimmy turns up dead.

Keri's neighbor, Mr. Bryer, watches Candace with suspicion. When he texts Keri one night, wanting to speak with her about her daughter, Candace intercepts the text and realizes something must be done to eliminate him. With Candace's help, Mr. Bryer is attacked by a swarm of wasps in his yard and dies. There's one thing left for Candace to do - find the family Will. Once she does, she sees that she inherits an equal share of the family's fortune and enlists the help of an old boyfriend in a plan to murder the entire family.

While the parents are working, Candace convinces her siblings to spend the day at a cabin on the lake she has access to. After drugging them, Candace lures her parents to the cabin for a well thought out plan of crashing a boat with all aboard while blaming her boyfriend for the whole thing. It's up to Keri to stop her daughter in the most important fight of her life.
