At the hands of a religious fanatic who blames sinners for his daughter's death, those responsible are forced to participate in an egg hunt for the most valuable prize - their lives.

17-year-old Eve is infatuated with 19-year-old Joel. She skips Easter service to spend time with her boyfriend while her best friend Sophia covers for her. Jarvis, Eve’s dad, waits for her in church and grows angry when she doesn’t arrive. Little does he know that a group of punks: Johnny, Kate, Scott, and Charlie harass the young couple. Johnny assaults Joel and starts to sexually assault Eve while Kate goes through her purse. Scott and Charlie want nothing to do with the evil act, but neither wants to encounter Johnny’s wrath if they dared oppose him.

Johnny pulls a knife on Eve. She panics and fights back. When Johnny tackles her to keep her from running off, they fall to the ground and the knife impales Eve in the back. At that moment, Mary, a jogger, starts to pass through the area. Although she doesn’t know Eve has been stabbed, an assault is obvious. The culprits notice her and she flees to the woods. Johnny’s group runs off as they know the police will arrive soon. Eve dies and Joel ends up in the hospital in serious condition.

Jarvis learns of his daughter’s death and takes it hard. Wanting to punish those responsible, he kidnaps Joel and tortures him for information on who killed her. Joel doesn’t know their names but vows to help Jarvis find them. They indoctrinate three more young men. Jarvis brainwashes them with religion so they will do anything he wants.

A year later just before Easter, Mary receives an invitation to a high stakes Easter egg hunt with big prizes. She goes to the parking lot from the flyer and finds Johnny’s group there, along with Eve’s friend Sophia. All have received the same invitation. A limo picks them up, driven by one of Jarvis’s men. Inside, the doors lock and the compartment is flooded with white gas that knocks them out.

They awaken inside a cage on a big piece of land owned by Jarvis. Held at gunpoint by his goons, the group is forced to listen to an explanation on the game they will be forced to play. A set number of eggs are hidden around the compound. In three hours, each guest must find at least 5 eggs to be safe. If they don’t, the bracelet on the person’s arm will explode. This repeats 4 times over 12 hours. Only a few people could possibly survive out of six. Each is given a special basket with a counter built in and sent on their quest.

Kate dies quickly when she tampers with an egg station, where someone can insert two of their eggs and receive a prize that may or may not be more valuable than the two eggs. Scott and Johnny each go off on their own. Charlie works with the girls. One-by-one, the guests succumb until it’s down to Scott and Mary. Things look glum by this point until Joel decides to help them. His partners fight against them and Mary is wounded. She perishes after giving Scott her necklace she wants taken to her mom along with a message. Joel tells Scott how to escape, then locates Jarvis and knocks him out. Jarvis wakes with one of the bracelets on his wrist with time running out. It explodes.
