On a remote island, people become the hunted when the reptilian inhabitants develop a taste for human flesh.

On an island where Komodo dragons rule, a group of young Americans hire a tour guide to show them the sights. Brent and Marla, Russell and Jennifer, and Charlie and Amber have Will Landen take them on an excursion from the yacht they have rented. Little do they know, a few rogue, territorial male Komodos have begun terrorizing natives from a couple of the islands.

Even though Will and his assistant Sal takes the Americans on a Scuba Diving adventure, the teens want more. Marla’s dad is rich so they can afford to offer Will a bribe to do something he normally wouldn’t - take them on a personal tour of the island away from the safe areas. Against his better judgment, money talks so Will agrees. On the first night camping in the jungle, Sal leaves the camp site to urinate. One of the Komodo’s snatches him in the darkness. In the morning when the others can’t find him, the teens convince Will he must be lost so they should move on without him. He will catch up.

The jungle heat gets to the group. Will leads them to a beautiful watering hole. The teens go swimming to cool off but Will stays on the land. He was attacked by a crocodile once back in Australia while in the water so he’s not a fan. The revelation worries his tour group. Will assures them that they’re safer in the water than he is on land, right before a Komodo brutally attacks him. It drags a dying Will into the jungle while the observers are left in shock.

After a disagreement, the group decides to leave the water and try to find their way back to the ranger’s station. Russell is bitten by a venomous snake so they have to stop for him. Charlie knows his friend will be dead soon, but has Amber go off with him to find help. While Russell is paralyzed, a Komodo kills him in front of his terrified friends. Brent is too scared to lead so Marla takes over. Brent is the next one to die. While sleeping in a tree, a baby Komodo bites Jennifer on the arm. Marla tries to get her to help in time, but infection sets in.

Charlie and Amber return to the girls. With Jennifer unable to travel any longer, the trio puts her in a tree so they can go for help. She awakens to numerous baby Komodos attacking her. Her weakened condition allows them to win the confrontation.

The remaining survivors are attacked by two of the male Komodos. Marla is killed. Charlie receives a nasty bite from one. Between Marla and him, they kill one of the dragons. A worker from the rangers station arrives in the nick of time and extinguishes the final beast.

Amber waits for news on Charlie’s condition in the hospital. A doctor delivers the bad news that infection is too strong so there’s nothing they can do for him. Charlie awakens to Amber by his side and talks about the great life they will have together just before he passes.
