Synopsis

Becky is a troubled mother of three. Her teen years were filled with heartache, from a verbally abusive mom to kids teasing her at school. Her present isn’t all she wants it to be. While enjoying her role as mom to three kids and loving her husband Chad, she feels something is missing in their marriage. Chad works a lot and isn’t attentive. Becky yearns to live in her teenage days, where maybe she could make improvements to her future life.

After warning her that things aren’t always greener on the other side, a psychiatrist gives her a necklace as part of her therapy. While wearing it and wishing she could go back, she awakens in her own past as a teen girl. Her verbally abusive mom, Margaret, is just as bad as she was in present day before her death. Becky tries to change how she interacts with her mom by blowing her off instead of letting her nasty comments get to her. Her dad, William, still means the world to Becky. She hasn’t seen him in many years since his passing and tries to cherish the new time with him she has been given.

What she didn’t realize is that she would have to go to school, where the kids who bullied her will be. Forced to deal with Cathy and her hoodlum friends, Becky struggles to ignore their comments. She even challenges them, which throws Cathy off her normal routine. The two end up in a physical fight after school, which never happened in Becky’s previous past. The parents of both girls are called into the principal’s office, but the blame is put on Cathy.

Becky has thought about her high school beau, Mark, a lot over the years. She wondered what her life would be like if she had stayed with him instead of meeting Chad. When she sees Mark again, the butterflies are still there, to a lesser degree. Yet, things are different now. Having made a life with Chad, along with three kids with him, Becky fails to find the old feelings she had for Mark. When he kisses her, Becky realizes at that moment she can’t swoon over Mark any longer. She has a man she loves waiting back home.

Missing her family, Becky tries to will herself back home with the use of the necklace. When she awakes in the morning, she finds herself still stuck in the past. She is left confused about why it failed. When she sees William again, she realizes what went wrong. Unfinished business. His death had been devastating to Becky. Now she had the chance to make sure he knew just how much he meant to her, after getting married had made William feel like his daughter no longer needed him.

Becky plans a fun day for the two. They go bowling, one of their favorite pastimes, see a movie, and get something to eat, just the two of them. Now Becky is at peace and able to will herself home. There, she tries to appreciate what she has by using what she learned from tweaking her past. She finds the happiness that has eluded her for most of her adult life.
