All hell breaks loose when a mind-altering virus that causes its victims to ravenously crave flesh runs rampant in a secluded area of woods and infects a group of young adults on a weekend getaway.

While hunting, one of the men is attacked by a dog. He becomes very ill and ends up assaulting his buddy for food. 

A group of seven friends go to a cabin for the weekend for good times filled with drinking, drugs, and sex. While searching for firewood, Jake is bitten by the deranged hunter. In retaliation, he bashes his head in and returns to his friends. The bite wound to his arm decays quickly and leaves Jake deathly sick. His friends decide to take him for help, except someone has stolen spark plugs from their vehicle so it won’t start. Left stranded, Trey decides to walk for help. On his journey, the hunter shoots him before Trey kills him for good.

Forced to return to the cabin due to his injury, Trey discovers something odd - Jake has seemed to recover, only raw meat keeps disappearing from the refrigerator. Jake bites Joni on the neck. Her wound starts decaying, just like Jake’s injury continues to. She also develops a taste for raw meat.

Their friends start putting the pieces together a little too late. Jake forces a kiss on Megan, Trey’s girlfriend, and bites her lip during the encounter. As Megan drops ill, Trey grows desperate and tries to cut out the decaying flesh.

Joni bites Chad’s arm when he tries to subdue her. He tries to cut out the wound to stop the infection from spreading. Desperate for food, Joni and Jake attack Megan when no one is looking. Feeling guilty after, Joni begs Trey to kill her. He reluctantly complies. Jake, on the other hand, feels no guilt and wishes to change over the rest of his friends. Trey ties him up while he figures out what to do.

During the night, Jake escapes. When he attempts to attack Trey, Keri, and Stacey, they lock themselves in the downstairs bedroom. The problem is that the virus also gives the victim extra strength so it won’t be long before Jake breaks down the door. The only escape route is through the window. Trey helps Keri to the ground on the other side. Immediately, she is attacked by Chad, who has recovered from his illness. Unable to help her, Trey and Stacey stay in the bedroom, but Trey has a new problem - Stacey has been bitten and attacks him. He is forced to kill her before trying to leave the room.

Jake attacks. Thinking he may lose, Trey pretends to go along with Jake until he gets the upper hand and kills him. Keri asks Trey to kill her before she turns. He complies with the use of a hatchet. Out of nowhere, Megan attacks Trey with a vengeance.

Two hunters in the area discover Megan, looking lost and confused. They offer to take her for help, not knowing the deadly fate she is about to bestow on them.
