In a future world where teleporters replace cars, a man and his family heading out on vacation are transported to an old farmhouse, into the hands of masked killers who try to pick them off one by one every time darkness falls.

In the future when gasoline no longer exists, cars have been outlawed. In their place, citizens are forced to build a teleporter in every house and business. Capable of transporting people from one local location to the next, or even to other countries, the new form of transportation changes the way the world travels.

Doug Clayton and his wife Amber are raising three children. Jacob, Doug's son from a previous marriage, is a bitter teen who hates everything. 8-year-old Ry and 3-year-old Maddie bring them great joy. Everything would be perfect if they could only get through to Jacob.

Vacation time comes. While Doug is supposed to meet his brother Jamie and sister-in-law Brenda at the beach resort, a problem with their teleporter brings them to the Clayton house to use theirs. Unable to fit inside with all of their bags, the men decide to send their luggage ahead. When it's the family's turn, they discover they haven't teleported to the resort. Instead, they find themselves in an old farmhouse in the middle of who knows where.

To complicate things, masked killers come every night when darkness falls. Two previous survivors from the teleporter mishap enlighten Doug that the same thing has happened to many before him, and all have died at the hands of the murderous trio.

William, one of the two survivors, has a bedroom set up to give him extra protection. As darkness descends, he flees to the room and locks himself inside. That leaves Doug's family no choice but to lock themselves inside another bedroom. Only the killers have a secret way inside and William fails to survive the night.

During the day, Doug has no luck picking up a cell phone signal to call for help and walks the back road for miles in hopes of finding help. What he discovers is a ditch where bodies rot under the hot sun. Afraid it will grow dark on him if he goes any further, Doug returns home to look after his family.

The next night brings personal tragedy that threatens to destroy the Clayton family. While Doug struggles to keep his remaining family together and protect them, he also knows something needs to be done before more perish. Doug and Jamie hit the road at daylight in search of help. What they find is a rundown house where the killers sleep during the day. Suffering from a severe skin allergy, the sibling trio takes out their frustrations on innocent people they purposely teleport to the farmhouse.

As darkness prepares to fall once more, Doug and Amber must fight together to save their remaining children from the most horrid fate.
