In a sinister game of blackmail, a man forces his estranged wife to commit an escalating series of crimes in order to keep her new boyfriend alive. 

Hannah is very timid. Her husband Andrew is abusive and controlling, but Hannah doesn't know what to do about it. Finally, she has had enough and tries to leave him. Andrew won't allow it. He takes her out on a boat and just as he is about to kill her, Hannah turns the tables and throws him overboard. His body is never found, making Hannah believe he’s dead.

After some time, Hannah heals, even starts trusting men again. While being pulled over for a traffic violation, Hannah has an instant attraction to Officer Evan. He feels the same way about Hannah and goes easy on her. Before long, the two are dating and getting very serious.

However, all good things come to an end. When Evan goes missing, Hannah sets out to find him but it’s not until she receives a call from her past that she realizes the shocking truth - Andrew is very much alive and has kidnapped her new love interest to make her pay for everything she has done.

Andrew REALLY wants to punish Hannah so he invents a crazy game where he forces Hannah to commit crimes, something that goes against her angelic nature. It starts out small with stealing a pack of gum, but Hannah can’t even do that right and causes Andrew to hurt Evan to show he’s serious. The crimes escalate, from running a red light to picking up drugs, and even the possibility of murder.

In the basement of Andrew’s cabin, Evan has no choice but to watch Andrew force himself on Hannah inside a seedy hotel via a laptop screen. Tied to a chair and having failed one escape attempt that left him injured, there is nothing he can do to help her.

Hannah reaches a boiling point where she knows what she has to do. She discovers how Andrew has been tracking her and eliminates that issue. Then she does some research and learns of the cabin that Andrew owns, knowing that must be where Evan is held. Andrew is one step ahead of her and races to the cabin so he can set off a timer for a bomb to blow it all to pieces, including Evan and hopefully Hannah.

Hannah arrives right after and manages to get Evan out of the cabin, but it doesn’t explode, making Hannah even angrier. Even is hurt badly from Andrew’s wrath and dies in her arms. Heartbroken, Hannah takes time to heal before rage consumes her. She whips herself into shape and learns fighting moves before she finds out where Andrew is hiding in Mexico, where she confronts him at his house.

Andrew is amused that Hannah would go to such extremes for revenge while he also expected it. The two engage in a heated battle of physical strength, each getting as good as they receive. Hannah’s thirst for revenge prevails, allowing her to kill her maniac ex so she can at least try to move on with her life and not have to look over her shoulder every moment for his return.
