Don't Look in the Vents
Don't Look in the Vents
When a couple moves into an old house, they are forced to save their children from something evil that lives in the vents.
Synopsis
Nick and Karyn Hayes buy an old farmhouse for them and their three children. Strange things have happened in the house over decades, such as suicides and murders, but the price is right and the realtor doesn’t seem concerned. A blended family, Karyn’s two children, Casey and Lily, don’t get along well with Nick’s son, Jake. Getting them settled into their new home comes with challenges. Things only get worse as vent covers mysteriously fall off, and Lily claims there is a monster in her room.
The parents believe Lily has an overactive imagination, like most kids. When odd incidents keep happening, Nick starts to blame Casey. He believes she is acting out because she hates her new life. Casey denies being behind any of the spooky occurrences. Karyn is caught in the middle, believing Casey could be responsible but not sure.
One of the movers hears something in a vent at the top of the stairs and moves in to investigate. Something unseen spooks him. When he stumbles back, he topples down the steps and dies instantly, right in front of Lily. A nosey neighbor warning the family about the house grows deathly ill suddenly after her visit and perishes in the hospital.
Thinking there is a rogue animal living in the vents, Nick has a couple of exterminators come out while the family isn’t home to trap the creature. The pair decides to fumigate the vents instead, only an evil entity causes one of the men to breathe in his own chemicals, landing him in the hospital.
Nick and Karyn believe it’s just a series of unusual coincidences, and grow more concerned about Casey’s involvement. After being dropped off at their grandparents’ house, a nasty bruise is discovered on Lily’s shoulder. Her grandma believes Nick must have hurt her and confronts Karyn, who didn’t know about the bruising. Instead of blaming Nick, Karyn worries about Casey being the culprit. When she confronts her daughter, Casey somewhat convinces her that she hasn’t done any of the things she is accused of.
Nick has to attend a party given by his boss and needs Karyn to go with him. They make the decision to leave Casey in charge of her younger siblings in their absence. Casey goes to gather the kids’ pillows so they can have a slumber party downstairs and finds herself trapped inside a bedroom. No lock on the door but it won’t open.
Meanwhile, Lily looks into the upstairs vent. An evil creature snatches her in front of Jake. He bravely charges inside after her and finds himself in Hell, where the demon lives. After locating Lily, he ushers her back through the vents as the monster chases after them. Nick and Karyn have come home early, and free Casey. Then they pull the younger kids from the vent and flee the house safely. Months later, a new family looks at the property with serious interest.
