The Royal Bodyguard
The Royal Bodyguard
A female soldier with Special Forces assigned to protect a sexist Middle-Eastern king from terrorists will either end her military career with a bang... or die trying.
Synopsis
Kelli Danton is a member of the army’s Special Forces. Stationed in the Middle-East, she is with her squad doing humanitarian aide in the area. When King Hamid, the local ruler, barely escapes an attempt on his life, his advisor, Omar, insists that he needs a personal bodyguard. Having standard guards just isn’t enough. Omar is placed in charge of finding a guard. He contacts the American in charge of the Special Forces squad to ask for the best he has.
Kelli is sent to the palace to meet with Omar. Initially, he laughs over a woman protecting a king. The more he thinks about it, the better he likes the idea. She will be able to stick close without drawing suspicion. There is one major issue: Hamid will never go along with it if he knows she is his bodyguard because of his inherent sexism. Kelli is forced to hide behind the typical dress for women in the area and pretend to be a common servant girl. While she despises the idea, she is committed to her job and does what she is ordered.
When in Hamid’s presence, it’s all Kelli can do to keep her cover. He speaks to her like any servant, ordering her around and trying to get her into his bed. When it looks like she won’t be able to escape the deed, she drugs Hamid so she won’t have to be intimate with him. He soon learns who she really is and tries to throw her out. Unable to mind her mouth, Kelli insults Hamid, which results in her being detained in the dungeon. Her command will have no idea what happened to save her.
Omar coaches her on how to win Hamid over. There will be a big birthday bash for his highness. Omar gives Kelli a dress to wear for the party, believing Hamid will no longer be mad when he sees how beautiful she really is. While Kelli hates the idea, she’s left with little choice.
At first, Hamid is angered that Omar let Kelli out of the prison for the party, but he can’t help but to soften over her true appearance. He jokes about taking her to his bed later. Kelli drugs his drink so that won’t happen, but Hamid knows and switches drinks so she receives the drug right before an attempt is made on his life. Although feeling the drugs, Kelli puts up an impressive fight to save Hamid before she passes out.
After they patch things up, a major attack occurs on the palace. Kelli saves Hamid but knows they have to flee. To make matters worse, Omar is actually working with the opposition to murder Hamid and come into power himself. Kelli and Hamid lay low at a house belonging to Kelli’s friend. There, they fall in love. When the assailants show themselves, they go on the run.
At a rally where Hamid will back the new president, the military uses Hamid as bait to draw out Omar. A fierce battle ensues from Kelli’s squad and the opposition. Special Forces wins, although Hamid is wounded seriously. He recovers and confesses his love for Kelli.
