In a future world where the poor are only permitted to have one child per couple, a teen girl and her younger brother are forced to flee their village in order to seek out the rebels who plan to take down the government.
Synopsis
Following nuclear destruction in the United States, the government lumps survivors into "zones" where they can be watched and controlled. Politicians and elitists live well in the capital city while poor villagers struggle just to survive. "The Law of One" is passed, making it illegal for any couple to have more than one child in order to curb the population and protect limited resources.
17-year-old Nadira Beswick finds herself in a bind when the local council discovers her parents have been hiding a younger brother in their cellar his entire life. When the parents are publicly executed, Nadira is forced to go on the run with her brother Alex.
With the president and her henchman daughter set on making an example out of them, their only chance is a group of rebels that are plotting to overthrow the government and make things equal for all.
